Masked Reader
Lesson: English
Class: Ladybirds and Butterflies Year: 2023 - 2024
We welcomed our first Masked Reader of the week into our whole school assembly today. 'Dragon' read the book 'The Runaway Pea' to the whole school before giving us some clues to their identity. The clues we were given were..."My normal hair colour matches the beard I have today!" and "I have a child in school and their name starts with an O." The children were fantastic at guessing who our Masked Reader was. Huge thanks to Laura, Oscar's mum who was revealed to be hiding under the dragon mask.
Day 2 'Spiderman' read us the book 'Octopants'. We loved listening to this funny story. We then were given the clues... "I have a child in Y3 at WLSJ." and "I wouldn't usually wear red as I am an Everton supporter." We had some good guesses but 'Spiderman' was revealed to actually be Harriet's dad Kevin. Thanks Kevin for being a good sport and wearing red just for this one day!
Our Masked Reader for Thursday was 'Carnival Queen'. She did a fabulous job reading a Little People Big Dreams book to us, all about Stevie Wonder. The clues to her real identity were... "I have long dark hair." and "I have two siblings in school!" Lots of us guessed that 'Carnival Queen' was in fact Grace from Wise Owls. Well done Grace!
