Sporting Success Update
As there are many parents who are new to our school, I thought that I would write a quick update about our sporting successes. Besides our outstanding provision of curriculum P.E. lessons, I also run a comprehensive programme of extra-curricular clubs and take our children to many inter-school competitions in a variety of sports. If you check out last year's sporting calendar, you will get an overview of just what is on offer (and it was a relatively quiet year!)

Last year, we won the football league; the High 5 netball tournament (we were also runners-up at the play-offs for county finals); we played in four tag-rugby tournaments and won the cup (top tier) once and were runners-up twice and we won the tag-rugby plate (third tier) once; and we won the sportshall athletics competition and progressed to county finals at Blackpool, which was a great day out for the team. There were plenty of other successes too - individual or team bronze, silver and gold in various other competitions.
We have started this school year in a similar fashion - we played some netball friendlies a couple of weeks ago, winning all 4 games, and we are top of the football league after 3 games, having won all 3 of those too.
While I am proud of these successes, the objective remains to get ALL of our children fit and active and enjoying sport. There was a drop-off in numbers for after-school sports clubs last year (in some year groups), which I have addressed this term with lots of encouragement, sign-ups and monitoring of attendance.
