Cup Runners-Up at Ormskirk Rugby Club
On Saturday, our tag-rugby team braved the freezing temperatures for over three hours to play in this Level 2 School Games tournament at Ormskirk Rugby Club. They played a blinder to finish runners-up in the tournament (2nd out of 15 teams). Three wins and a draw in the group stage saw them top their group and qualify for the top tier of the tournament (the Cup). It's always a tough challenge at that level of competition as our opponents are much bigger schools, but WLSJ won their semi-final to make it to the grand final.
Our team comprised of 4 girls and 5 boys and I'm so pleased that so many children take part in this sport in our school. There's real competition for places in the team, so if they want to be part of it, children really must attend training sessions to learn the game from the earliest opportunity (Year 4 upwards).
