Tree Identification

Class: Forest School Year: 2021 - 2022

With Spring not quite here yet, and some leaves not yet budding, we used twig identification sheets to explore our Forest School area and identify our trees by their twigs only. We had to look very carefully and study them closely. 
We are also monitoring and observing a plum tree at the other end of the field for changes in growth. We are going to visit the tree each week and discuss and note the changes taking place. We are waiting for the cherry blossom to appear next! 
The sunshine seemed to bring out the ladybirds and we enjoyed identifying them by their spots and colour.
We can't wait for Spring to arrive and to see more natural colour at Forest School.
