Shrove Tuesday

Class: Ladybirds and Butterflies Year: 2021 - 2022

The children enjoyed learning about the meaning of Shrove Tuesday. We celebrated the day by making our own pancakes. The children had to crack their own eggs and then mix in flour and milk. We even made a dairy free version for those allergic to dairy! The children really took their time to mix a smooth batter. We then cooked them and "devoured" them (as described by one of the Butterflies!). They also learnt the history of the pancake, how it has changed over time in ingredients and name. We then found out about the worlds largest pancake ever made and that had to be lifted up by 2 cranes! Fantastic day!
