Tree Identification @ Edge Hill University

As part of our topic, Wise Owls visited Edge Hill University to identify trees.  The Rose Garden was planted nearly 80 years ago and it features an amazing diversity of tree specimens from around the world.  The children are learning to identify trees by looking at many factors, such as how the branches grow, the shape of the leaves, their buds and flowers, and the size of the tree.  They had 25 different types of tree to identify and they remained very focused on the task in hand.
