Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Ladybirds and Butterflies Year: 2021 - 2022

We enjoyed celebrating Lunar New Year. We learnt that lots of countries celebrate Lunar New Year and we enjoyed looking for them on the world map. At snack time we tried spring rolls, won tons, crackers and prawn toast. We made dragon puppets and firework pictures. We learnt that children are given red envelopes with money in. We learnt that the colour red is a lucky colour. The children chose to give their red envelopes to their friends. This was such a lovely gesture, wanting to wish their friends luck for the year.
